Ariana Grande Urges Fans to Cease Sending ‘Hateful Messages’ Amid Allegations of Ex-Husband’s Infidelity

With the release of her seventh studio album, “Eternal Sunshine,” Ariana Grande has found herself amidst speculation and interpretation regarding the lyrical content, particularly in relation to her ex-husband Dalton Gomez and his alleged infidelity, as well as her current boyfriend Ethan Slater.

While the album, which arrived on Friday, may resonate with fans in various ways, Grande emphasized that “Eternal Sunshine” draws inspiration from multiple sources, not solely personal experiences. In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, she highlighted the versatility of art, stating, “I think there’s such a freedom within art in general because you really can pull from anywhere.”

However, Grande expressed concern over fans potentially misinterpreting the album’s themes and translating them into negative actions. Addressing the issue on her Instagram Story ahead of her appearance on Saturday Night Live, she made a plea to her followers to refrain from sending hateful messages to individuals in her life based on their interpretation of the album.

“Hi, I just wanted to say anyone that is sending hateful messages to the people in my life based on your interpretation of this album is not supporting me and is absolutely doing the polar opposite of what I would ever encourage (and is also entirely misinterpreting the intention behind the music),” Grande wrote.

She continued, “I ask that you please do not. It is not how to support me. It is the opposite. Although this album captures a lot of painful moments, it also is woven together with a through line of deep, sincere love. If you cannot hear that, please listen more closely. Thank you.”

Grande’s message underscores the importance of understanding the intentions behind art and encourages fans to approach her work with empathy and sensitivity.
