Taylor Swift Breaks Spotify Record for Most-Streamed Album in a Single Day With ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’.

Taylor Swift has made history on Spotify, with her re-recorded album ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ achieving a remarkable milestone within the first 24 hours of its release.

On October 28, Spotify proudly announced that ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version),’ featuring 21 tracks and which premiered the day before, has now become the most-streamed album within a single day in the platform’s history. But that’s not the only record Taylor Swift broke. Alongside her album’s release, she also became the most-streamed artist in a single day on Spotify. This achievement has led her to surpass her own record, previously held when she released her 10th studio album, ‘Midnights,’ in October 2022.

This refreshed edition of ‘1989’ includes newly recorded versions of all 13 original songs, as well as three bonus tracks (“Wonderland,” “New Romantics,” and “You Are In Love”), and five tracks from the “Vault” (“Is It Over Now?,” “Now That We Don’t Talk,” “Say Don’t Go,” “Suburban Legends,” and “Slut!”).

With ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ out, Swift now has only two more “Taylor’s Version” re-records remaining on her agenda. Having already released ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’ and ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’ in 2021, along with ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ earlier this year, the final re-recordings are her self-titled debut from 2006 and ‘Reputation,’ her last album under Big Machine Records in 2017.

Notably, Taylor Swift is the leading finalist for this year’s Billboard Music Awards. To catch the BBMAs, tune in on November 19, streaming on Billboard’s platform and the BBMA’s social media channels.
