Kodak Black On Getting Paid $1 Million For a Collab with 6ix9ine and Addresses Snitching Allegations
Kodak Black has addressed the controversy surrounding his collaboration with 6ix9ine on the track “Shaka Laka” this past summer, shedding light on his decision to work with the controversial rapper. During his interview on Drink Champs, Kodak discussed the polarizing reactions he received from the public due to 6ix9ine’s past cooperation with the government in his 2019 trial. Kodak explained that his decision to collaborate with 6ix9ine was primarily motivated by the substantial financial compensation he received for the project.
“It was really like this – when they first approached me about it, I was like, ‘Hell yeah,'” Kodak Black explained. “It wasn’t something to ponder or consult others about. It wasn’t a decision that required any contemplation or second-guessing.”
He continued, “There was no need for deep thought. That’s a million dollars, my friend, for one song. It’s as simple as that. I understand the value of money. One hundred dollars is still one hundred dollars, and a thousand dollars is still a thousand dollars.”
Kodak Black emphasized that working with 6ix9ine wasn’t a moral dilemma for him because the snitching allegations surrounding 6ix9ine had no direct impact on him. He suggested that those who were genuinely affected by 6ix9ine’s actions might have a different perspective.
Kodak Black also mentioned his disagreement with Boosie Badazz, who criticized him for collaborating with 6ix9ine and suggested he lacked moral integrity. According to Kodak Black, he feels that Boosie, as a figure he looked up to, let him down in this instance, calling it a failure of his hero.
