Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker has announced that he will no longer sign autographs or take photos with fans outside hotels and airports, citing an increase in what he described as aggressive autograph seekers. Parker shared the update on Instagram Stories on Sept. 7, explaining that the encounters had changed enough for him to stop participating in them.

“Due to the rise of aggressive autograph hounds,” Parker said he would no longer sign items or take photos outside hotels or at airports. He asked fans not to take it personally if they encounter him and he declines a request, adding that some autograph seekers had begun involving children in attempts to get his attention.

Parker also addressed the practice of meeting fans after Tame Impala shows. He said he would not be coming outside after concerts to meet people waiting in venue parking lots “for the time being,” explaining that he had previously done so during the European portion of the tour but that the numbers had become difficult to manage.

According to Parker, the size of the crowds and the lack of sufficient security created an additional concern. He said his team had advised him not to continue the post-show meetups because of the security risk.

The announcement comes as Tame Impala continues the North American leg of the Deadbeat tour. The current run is scheduled to continue through Sept. 20, with the band then set to return to Australia before further European dates extending into 2027.

The tour supports Tame Impala’s fifth studio album, Deadbeat, which was released in October 2025. The album includes “Dracula,” a collaboration with BLACKPINK’s Jennie, while “End of Summer” won Best Dance/Electronic Recording at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

Parker’s decision follows a period in which he had regularly interacted with fans outside venues. Earlier this year, fans documented occasions when he stopped to sign records, posters and other memorabilia after performances.

Tame Impala is scheduled to continue its North American performances before returning to Europe in 2027, where the group has announced shows in the United Kingdom and several other European cities.
