2Pac’s Shooting Case: Duane “Keffe D” Davis Arrested and Charged With Murder

In a significant development, Duane “Keffe D” Davis has been arrested and charged with one count of murder with a deadly weapon in connection to the 1996 fatal shooting of iconic rapper 2Pac. The arrest was announced by prosecutors on Friday, marking a major breakthrough in a decades-old case.

The arrest occurred in Las Vegas, where authorities apprehended Duane “Keffe D” Davis. While the exact nature of the charges he faces remains undisclosed at this time, it’s a pivotal moment in a long-standing investigation.

The Las Vegas Metro Police Department previously raided the home of Davis’s wife, Paula Clemons, in July. During the raid, they confiscated various items deemed relevant to the murder case, including computers, a cellphone, a hard drive, a Vibe magazine featuring 2Pac, bullets, photographs, and a copy of Keefe D’s memoir, “Compton Street Legend.”

Notably, Keefe D had previously confessed to being present in the car from which the fatal shots were fired in the drive-by shooting that took 2Pac’s life on September 7, 1996, just one block from the Las Vegas Strip. He openly discussed 2Pac’s murder in interviews, including those with DJ Vlad.

The case had seen increased activity in recent times, with former Death Row Records head of security Reggie Wright Jr. suggesting that authorities were actively pursuing leads. In response to Wright’s comments, Keefe D expressed his frustration and requested not to be mentioned further.

Meanwhile, Billy Garland, 2Pac’s biological father, shared his belief that the U.S. government may have been involved in his son’s death. Garland asserted that 2Pac had been surveilled by government agents on the night of the fatal shooting, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.

As investigations continue, the arrest of Duane “Keffe D” Davis marks a significant development in the ongoing quest for justice in the murder of one of hip-hop’s most iconic figures.
