Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ Film Poised for $100 Million Opening at the Box Office
Taylor Swift is set to make a triumphant entrance into the box office scene with her new concert film, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.” Early estimates from AMC Theatres suggest the film could achieve a jaw-dropping $100 million domestic opening. Leading Hollywood studios anticipate a weekend box office performance ranging from $90 to $110 million. On its opening day, the Eras Tour film grossed an impressive $39 million, aligning it with major blockbusters like “Spider-Man: No Way Home” ($39.2 million) and “Joker” ($39.4 million), as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The concert movie has the potential to become the highest-grossing October opener in North America if it surpasses “Joker,” according to Comscore.

By the end of the weekend, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” is expected to surpass all contemporary music concert films in terms of box office revenue. Currently, the number one spot on the list is held by Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never,” released in 2011, with a domestic gross of $73 million, according to boxofficemojo.com.
Even before its official release on Thursday (Oct. 12), the Eras Tour film had already broken records. Within the first 24 hours of advance ticket sales, it generated $26 million in revenue, marking the highest single-day advance ticket sales revenue in the 103-year history of AMC Theatres, the company announced in early September.
Swift celebrated the world premiere of the film at The Grove in Los Angeles on Wednesday (Oct. 11), delivering a heartfelt speech and expressing her appreciation for her band, dancers, and devoted fans, Swifties. “I’ve always had fun doing this. I can’t believe I get to do music as a career. That’s crazy,” the singer exclaimed. “I’ve always had so much fun doing it. I’ve never had this much fun in my life as I have had on The Eras Tour. It is far and away just the most electric experience of my life.”
The movie is also making its international debut, with AMC predicting a global launch within the $150 million range, as reported by THR. International box office figures will become available on Sunday (Oct. 15).
