Normani Unveils “1:59” Featuring Gunna, the Lead Single from Highly Anticipated Debut Album ‘Dopamine’

The countdown has officially begun: Normani is gearing up to launch her Dopamine era with the release of a brand-new single.
The 27-year-old former Fifth Harmony member took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that her upcoming single titled “1:59” is set to drop on April 26. Adding to the excitement, Billboard reports that the track will feature a guest verse from none other than Gunna himself.
“Soo basically my first single 1:59 will be coming out 4/26,” Normani shared with her fans, setting the stage for what promises to be a thrilling new chapter in her musical journey.

To offer a tantalizing taste of what’s to come, Normani also treated her followers to a sneak peek of the track on her Instagram and TikTok accounts. In the snippet, her velvety vocals glide over a melody as she croons, “When I get you alone / Boy, what you gon’ do with this? / Don’t talk too much, just do this shit.”
The teaser hints at an interpolation of the iconic song “Now That We Found Love,” originally by The O’Jays but later popularized by Heavy D & the Boyz in 1991.
“1:59” marks the inaugural offering from Normani’s long-awaited debut album, Dopamine. While the album’s title and cover art were unveiled last month, neither Normani nor RCA Records have disclosed the LP’s official release date, leaving fans eagerly anticipating further details.

The anticipation for Normani’s debut album has been palpable since her solo debut in 2019 with “Motivation.” With subsequent singles like “Wild Side” featuring Cardi B and “Fair,” fans have been eagerly awaiting a full-length project. Addressing the album’s delay during the 2024 Sundance Film Festival in January, Normani assured fans of her shared eagerness for its release, dispelling any misconceptions about her commitment to delivering the project.
As the release of “1:59” draws near, excitement mounts for what promises to be a groundbreaking era in Normani’s career, signaling her evolution as an artist and solidifying her status as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
