Drake Postpones “For All the Dogs” Album Release Due to Tour
Drake has announced a postponement for the release of his highly anticipated album, “For All the Dogs.” In a social media announcement on Friday night (Sept. 15), Drake revealed that the album’s release date has been rescheduled to October 6th, allowing him to complete his ongoing “It’s All a Blue” tour. The album was originally slated for release on September 22.
In an Instagram Story, Drake explained the dilemma he faced, stating, “Okay, my dilemma I am faced with is either cancel shows to finish the album or I complete the mission and drop the album before the last show.” He expressed his commitment to providing fans with unforgettable memories during his tour and assured them that any missed opportunities would be revisited.
He concluded the post with a firm decision, stating, “For All the Dogs October 6th. It’s only right…” Drake’s “It’s All a Blur” tour is currently scheduled to conclude on October 9th in Columbus, Ohio, with two additional U.S. dates in the planning stages. Notably, the October 6th release date for “For All the Dogs” aligns with Drake’s back-to-back concerts in his hometown of Toronto.
This postponement comes shortly after Drake released his new track “Slime You Out,” featuring SZA. “For All the Dogs” marks Drake’s eighth studio album and his first solo project since the dance-heavy “Honestly, Nevermind,” released in June 2022. Just five months later, he collaborated with 21 Savage on their joint album, “Her Loss,” both of which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
