Ariana Grande’s ‘Eternal Sunshine’ Reigns at No. 1 on Billboard 200 for Second Week
Ariana Grande continues her chart-topping streak as her latest album, “Eternal Sunshine,” spends its second consecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart (dated March 30). Following its debut at the top spot a week prior, the album garnered 100,500 equivalent album units in the U.S. for the tracking week ending March 21, according to Luminate. This marks the third Grande album to achieve a two-week run at No. 1, following the success of “Positions” in 2020 and “Thank U, Next” in 2019.
In addition to Grande’s continued dominance, Kacey Musgraves makes a notable entry as her latest project, “Deeper Well,” debuts impressively at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. With 97,000 equivalent album units earned, this marks Musgraves’ biggest week by units since chart measurement began in December 2014. Of these units, traditional album sales contributed 66,000, making it Musgraves’ highest sales week to date.
“Deeper Well” represents Musgraves’ fifth top 10-charting album, with all of her albums debuting in the top four of the ranking. The success of “Deeper Well” surpasses her previous album, “Star-Crossed,” which debuted with 77,000 units. Notably, the album’s first-week sales figure sets a new record for Musgraves, surpassing the sales of her previous album, “Pageant Material,” which sold 55,000 units in its first week.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, including album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA), and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).
