MaMan Returns with A Soulful Tribute “Bahary”

Sudanese singer, producer, and sound engineer MaMan unveils his latest single “Bahary,” a deeply personal ode to the district north of Khartoum that shaped his identity. Blending smooth Afropop grooves, subtle reggae rhythms, and warm jazz-inspired instrumentation, the track is a nostalgic meditation on place, memory, and the people we carry with us.

Co-written with MazMars, a native of Bahary, the song reflects on someone deeply cared for whose memory remains inseparable from the district itself , a place of beauty, youth, and cultural pride. “Bahary” transforms personal longing into a universal anthem of belonging, resonating with anyone who has left home behind but carries it forward in their heart.

Born in Khartoum and now based in Cairo, MaMan has become one of the most innovative voices emerging from the region. He first gained attention as a DJ before rising to prominence in Sudan’s underground rap scene with breakout hits like “Alright” and “Grow Fast,” which have collectively earned millions of streams. His 2019 album Shammasi served as a powerful soundtrack to Sudan’s pro-democracy movement, cementing his role as an artist unafraid to speak truth through music.

After relocating during Sudan’s 2023 civil war, MaMan channeled his experience of exile and resilience into Dafnino (2024) and his 2025 EP Garmboza. These projects showcased his evolution as an artist — moving beyond rap into a rich fusion of Afrobeat, Amapiano, and traditional Sudanese sounds infused with reggae and jazz influences.

With a cinematic visual style and a message-driven approach inspired by legends like Bob Marley, MaMan continues to shape the voice of a generation through rhythm, resistance, and storytelling. “Bahary” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
