JoJo Siwa Confirms Split from Dakayla Wilson, Reflects on Hard Lessons Learned
JoJo Siwa has confirmed her breakup with Dakayla Wilson, just three months after going public with their relationship in August. Speaking to People, Siwa shared, “We have gone our separate ways, but she is an amazing girl. I’ve got my own holiday plans, and I know she’s spending the holidays with her family.”
Siwa and Wilson initially crossed paths when Siwa served as a judge on Wilson’s season of So You Think You Can Dance, where Wilson placed second. Siwa later addressed the breakup in an interview with E! News, acknowledging some tough lessons learned along the way: “You mess up and you put things out there that shouldn’t be public. Unfortunately, that’s how you learn sometimes. It’s been hard, but I’ve come out stronger for it.”
Earlier in the month, Siwa had discussed her relationship dynamic with Wilson on Hailey Welch’s Talk Tuah podcast, sharing candid thoughts on her personality and intimacy. “I have big d— energy,” Siwa explained. “It’s not a good thing, not a bad thing—it’s just a thing.” She also described her more nurturing side when at home with Wilson, saying, “I’m definitely baby spoon vibe,” and reflecting on their shared moments of affection, noting she preferred to “nuzzle” when watching movies.
Siwa further opened up about her evolving preferences in relationships, revealing that while she traditionally identified as “bottom” in past relationships, she had explored being more dominant with Wilson. “I prefer being bottom… but I’m a really good top because I know what I like as a bottom,” she admitted.
