Camila Cabello Reveals Charli XCX Called to Clear Up TikTok Misunderstanding

Camila Cabello has shared details about a recent misunderstanding with fellow pop star Charli XCX, which stemmed from a TikTok video in March. The incident began when fans drew comparisons between Cabello’s new single “I Luv It” and Charli XCX’s 2017 track “I Got It,” leading to speculation about potential shade being thrown.

In an interview with The Independent, Cabello explained that Charli XCX personally reached out to clarify the situation. According to Cabello, Charli said, “Hey, I hope you don’t think that I’m actually mad. This is me playing into the Brat era.” Cabello expressed her respect for Charli’s approach and her relief that their relationship, formed during Taylor Swift’s Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018, remained intact.

Cabello dismissed claims of similarities between their music, stating that only one song on her new album “C, XOXO” briefly references the hyperpop genre. She had previously told Paper magazine that being compared to Charli XCX was a “huge compliment.”

The singer emphasized her dislike for fan-instigated feuds, preferring to maintain positive relationships with her peers. Cabello concluded by affirming Charli’s fondness for her, asserting, “Charli loves me, so everybody can f*** off.”
