Barry Manilow Shares Health Update After Lung Cancer Diagnosis

Barry Manilow, the 82-year-old singer known for hits like “Copacabana” and “Mandy,” has shared a health update following his recent lung cancer diagnosis, posting a smiling selfie from his hospital bed on January 2 with the caption “Better today!” to his Instagram account, signaling he is feeling improved amid his recovery.

Manilow revealed in late December that doctors discovered a cancerous spot on his left lung during an MRI that was ordered after prolonged bouts of bronchitis, and that he would undergo surgery to remove the growth. The early detection came as a relief, with his medical team indicating that the cancer had not spread and that no chemotherapy or radiation would be necessary at this stage.

Following the diagnosis and planned surgery, Manilow postponed his January concert dates, rescheduling them for later months while he recovers; he is expected to return to the stage beginning with Valentine’s weekend performances in February at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.

Fans and fellow musicians have responded supportively to his latest update on social media, with messages of encouragement accompanying the post as he continues recuperating.
