THRURAW makes its introduction with “Malembe,” a debut single that brings together the infectious groove of Afrobeat and the rhythmic energy of Afro House. Released through independent label Imago Sound Music, based in Antibes on the French Riviera, the track offers a warm, dance-driven sound shaped by African influences and electronic production.

Built around organic percussion, guitar, warm synth pads and piano, “Malembe” creates an inviting atmosphere. A female vocal sung in Lingala sits at the centre of the production, adding another layer of character to the record. The result is a blend of organic instrumentation and electronic rhythms that feels equally suited to relaxed listening and the dance floor.

The title carries its own meaning. In Lingala, “malembe” means “gently” or “slowly,” and the track follows that idea in the way it develops. Rather than rushing into its full energy, the production takes time to establish its groove before building towards a chorus designed for listeners to sing along to.

That gradual progression gives “Malembe” its sunset appeal. Its warm textures and steady rhythm make it a natural fit for open-air dance floors, beach clubs and late-night Afro-inspired DJ sets. It captures the feeling of easing into the evening while allowing the music to take over.

THRURAW is an Afro-focused project built around sun-drenched grooves that connect Afrobeat and Afro House. With one foot in African musical roots and the other on the dance floor, the project explores the meeting point between organic sounds and contemporary electronic rhythms.
