Rihanna Unveils Her Next Chapter as an ‘Era of Discovery’
Rihanna took a moment during the FENTY x PUMA sneaker launch in Hollywood to reflect on her past and share insights into her current creative journey. Engaging with Complex, who presented copies of her 2013 ‘Full Exposure’ cover story, Rihanna playfully remarked, “Wow! Look how skinny I was, y’all. I’mma get back in those pants, I promise you… When I’m done having kids.”
As she looked back at the covers representing her musical eras, Complex asked Rihanna to describe the era she finds herself in today. In response, she eloquently stated, “I’m in an era of discovery. And maybe it’s rediscovery because so much is changing, and some things are fleeting. And some things are yet to be discovered, right? And I’m in the center of all of that.”

While Rihanna’s last musical project, Anti, dates back to 2016, she has been immersing herself in the business world, establishing successful brands like Fenty Beauty, Savage X Fenty, and FENTY X PUMA. Although she has slowly ventured back into music, contributing to the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack with songs like “Lift Me Up” and “Born Again,” Rihanna has been embracing new roles. She notably headlined Apple Music’s Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show in February, where she unveiled her baby bump. Later, she welcomed her second child, Riot Rose, marking a new and exciting chapter in her life.
Rihanna has reportedly been back in the studio. Ahead of her Super Bowl performance, the artist told Nadeska Alexis about her hopes for a new project, which she intended to release this year.
