Green Day to Kick Off 2026 Super Bowl With Opening Ceremony Performance

Green Day will perform at the opening ceremony of Super Bowl LX on February 8, 2026 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, the NFL has confirmed, marking a high-profile role for the iconic punk rock trio as the league celebrates the 60th anniversary of its championship game.

The band — Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool — is set to headline the pregame opening ceremony, which will air live at 3 p.m. Pacific on NBC, Telemundo, Peacock and Universo, and will feature a tribute to generations of Super Bowl MVPs entering the field ahead of kickoff.
Green Day’s performance is expected to draw on their catalog of well-known rock anthems as part of the festivities that precede the main game, marking a hometown return for the East Bay-based band in a rare national broadcast slot.
The opening ceremony joins a lineup of pre-Super Bowl entertainment, including Charlie Puth performing the national anthem, Brandi Carlile singing “America the Beautiful,” and Coco Jones delivering “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
Bad Bunny, announced earlier as the halftime show headliner, will follow Green Day’s set with a globally anticipated performance.
