Soleil Turns Heartbreak Into Self-Worth on New R&B Single “Heart Strings”
Singer-songwriter and DJ Soleil follows her soulful take on Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” with “Heart Strings,” an original R&B/Soul single that moves through heartbreak, nostalgia, and the process of finding yourself again.
The song looks back on a relationship that did not turn out as hoped. Its lyrics move between questioning the past and accepting what the experience taught her. Instead of staying in the sadness, Soleil gradually turns that pain into a reminder of her own worth.

“Heart Strings” blends R&B and Soul with touches of Blues, Funk, Jazz, and Neo-Soul. The production gives Soleil plenty of space to show the range and emotion in her voice. Guitar from Richard Boisrond, drums by Moises Lenare, bass from Josh Walton, and keys by Juan Santiago add to the record’s warm, live feel.
Soleil co-wrote the song with CJ Hilton, who also produced it. Paolo Angulo handled the mixing and mastering.
The song’s message comes into sharper focus in its music video, directed by Riccardo Solorzano. The visual moves between black-and-white and colour, reflecting the contrast between heartbreak and renewal. Soleil’s performance sits at the centre of the video, while the sound of an applauding crowd gives it the feeling of a live show.
For Soleil, “Heart Strings” is about reclaiming the parts of yourself that may have been lost along the way. The song recognises the sadness that comes with letting go while making room for growth, self-love, and a stronger sense of identity.
With “Heart Strings,” Soleil turns a difficult chapter into something empowering. The result is a soulful record about knowing when to let go and remembering your value in the process.
