Serena Di Palma Reimagines Neapolitan Legend on New Single “Bella Mbriana”

Italian artist Serena Di Palma unveils “Bella Mbriana,” a new single that draws from traditional Neapolitan folklore while addressing contemporary social realities. Produced by Joseba Publishing and distributed by Altafonte, the release is accompanied by a music video directed by Marko Carbone.

“Bella Mbriana” takes inspiration from the ancient Neapolitan legend of a benevolent household spirit believed to bring protection, luck, and hospitality to those who welcome it. Serena Di Palma reinterprets this symbol within a modern context, using the story as a lens to reflect on themes of refuge, belonging, and human vulnerability.

The song contrasts the spirit’s traditional role as a guardian of hospitality with the tragic experiences of those who search for safety but instead face loss and hardship. Through this narrative, the track becomes both a cultural homage and a social reflection, connecting folklore with present-day realities.

Composed by Serena Di Palma in collaboration with Andy of Bluvertigo, the song was produced by Vinz Turner under the artistic supervision of Gianni Testa. Musically, “Bella Mbriana” blends the melodic traditions of Neapolitan music with elements of modern pop and world music, creating a layered and atmospheric sound that supports the song’s emotional depth.
