Geordie Greep Responds to Sexual Misconduct Allegation, Cancels Tour Dates (UPDATE)
Former Black Midi frontman Geordie Greep has issued a further response to a sexual misconduct allegation following the publication of an interview with the woman involved, while the controversy has led to the cancellation of the remaining dates on his North American tour. The latest developments were reported on October 14, 2026, after the woman described her account of the encounter to Paste magazine.
The allegation first became public on October 8 outside Greep’s concert at The Pearl in Vancouver, British Columbia, where flyers accusing the musician of rape were distributed to attendees. Greep later addressed the situation from the stage, describing an encounter at a house party after a night out with members of his touring party. He said he had misread the situation, made an advance and apologised when it was rejected, while denying that he had raped anyone.
In the interview published by Paste, the woman, identified by the pseudonym Laura, said she had met Greep and his touring keyboardist, Cameron Campbell, at a bar before the group eventually went to an apartment. She told the publication that she had been drinking heavily and fell asleep on a couch. According to her account, she woke up to Greep kissing her and pushed him away when she realised what was happening.
Campbell separately provided an account to Paste, saying he had not been in the room when the alleged incident occurred but heard the woman’s reaction and witnessed the immediate aftermath. He said he later spoke directly with her about what had happened. Campbell also confirmed that he had decided to leave Greep’s touring band, citing what he witnessed and subsequently learned.
Following the publication of the interview, Greep posted a statement on Instagram responding to the woman’s account. He acknowledged that he had approached and kissed her but said he had mistakenly believed she was interested in him. Greep said he did not realise she had been asleep and expressed regret over the encounter, while describing the situation from his perspective.
