This week, we see the return of a Grammy-winning Atlanta rapper with an album accompanying an upcoming film, the release of a highly anticipated project from hip-hop’s Moon Man, and a Brooklyn drill artist dropping the sequel to his sophomore album.
21 Savage Unveils “American Dream” Project
This week, 21 Savage surprised fans with the trailer for his upcoming film, American Dream: The 21 Savage Story. The intriguing preview features actor Caleb McLaughlin portraying a young 21 Savage during various stages of the rapper’s early life, while Donald Glover, a.k.a. Childish Gambino, takes on the role of an adult 21 Savage. The choice of Glover stirred debate on social media about his ability to convincingly portray the grown-up rapper.

21 Savage took to Instagram to announce the release of his third album, American Dream, ahead of the film’s July 4 debut. While the official tracklist was not revealed before the album drop, the rapper shared baby photos of fellow artists featured on the project, including Metro Boomin, Doja Cat, Travis Scott, Summer Walker, and Young Thug.
Last December, 21 Savage announced the release of a new solo project while headlining his inaugural show at London’s renowned O2 Arena.

Kid Cudi Soars With “Insano” Album
After several delays, Kid Cudi has finally dropped his ninth studio album, Insano. Initially set for release in the fall of 2023, the project was pushed back as the Cleveland rapper fine-tuned his creative vision.

The album features a vibrant cover designed by KAWS, incorporating his 2019 painting titled It Takes What It Needs. With guest appearances from Travis Scott, A$AP Rocky, Lil Yachty, Young Thug, and more, fans are particularly eager to hear Cudi’s collaboration with the late XXXTentacion, titled “X & Cud.”

Brooklyn’s drill music leader, 22Gz, makes a comeback with Growth & Development 2, the sequel to his 2020 album. The 10-track collection includes rap contributions from Bronx artists Maliibu Miitch and Jdot Breezy.
