BTS Gets Competitive With a Pickleball Tournament in New ‘Run BTS 2.0’ Episode

BTS has brought its competitive spirit to the pickleball court in the latest episode of Run BTS 2.0, with all seven members taking part in a tournament filled with friendly rivalry, playful teasing and attempts to outdo one another. The episode, titled “We’re Very Serious: The 1st Pickleball Tournament,” was released on Sunday, October 11, 2026, as part of the group’s Toronto-themed series.

The new episode follows the members as they trade microphones and choreography for paddles and athletic competition. Pickleball, a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis, becomes the centre of the group’s activities as the members test their skills and compete for bragging rights.

Before the tournament begins, the members participate in preliminary games and practise their serves. Some appear more familiar with the sport than others, with V and j-hope revealing their previous interest in pickleball. The two have played the game as a hobby, giving them an advantage as their bandmates work to master the rules and techniques.

SUGA receives serving tips from the other members while V practises on the opposite side of the court. The practice session gradually turns into a competitive event, with the members reacting to successful shots, missed returns and unexpected plays. Their exchanges feature the teasing and humour that have become familiar elements of the group’s self-produced variety programme.

The tournament opens with RM and Jin, competing as Team Kim-Kim, facing Jimin and Jung Kook, who play as Team Kim Seokjin. The remaining members watch from the sidelines, providing commentary and reacting to the action. The matches generate animated celebrations and dramatic responses as the competitors attempt to gain an advantage.

Team Kim Seokjin wins the opening match and advances to the final. The other members then compete for the opportunity to challenge the winning team, with j-hope facing V and SUGA in a three-way contest. The format creates another competitive moment as the members attempt to secure a place in the final round.

Jimin also attracts attention during the episode for his performance on the court. He demonstrates quick reactions, accurate shots and the ability to read the direction of the ball, while maintaining his playful manner throughout the competition. His exchanges with the other members add to the episode’s mix of athletic activity and humour.

The competition includes more than the prospect of winning, as the members discuss playful penalties for those who lose. The possibility of having to complete a punishment adds another incentive for the participants to take the tournament seriously, even as the episode maintains the lighthearted atmosphere associated with Run BTS.

The pickleball episode follows the first instalment of the Toronto series, released on October 6. In that episode, the members gathered in a park and reminisced about games they played during childhood outings. They also participated in activities including “Red Light, Green Light,” bringing back the kind of group challenges that have featured throughout the show’s history.

The return of Run BTS 2.0 follows a period without regular new episodes. The original variety series launched in 2015 and accumulated 155 episodes between 2015 and 2021. It became one of BTS’s most recognisable non-musical projects, giving fans access to the members’ personalities through games, missions, travel episodes and group challenges.

The new season has arrived as BTS continues activities surrounding its album ARIRANG and the single “SWIM,” alongside its international touring schedule. The group has continued to release additional content for fans while balancing music performances and promotional activities.

At the conclusion of the pickleball episode, the members reflect on the tournament and the competition they have shared. The programme also leaves open the possibility that their interest in the sport could develop into a recurring activity in future content. The second Toronto instalment is now available through BTS’s official content channels, continuing the group’s return to its popular variety format.
