Aneta George Unveils “Rollercoaster” A Powerful Focus Track from Her New Album “Eclipses”

Paris-based Macedonian vocalist Aneta George presents “Rollercoaster,” the focus track from her deeply personal fifth album, Eclipses. Known for blending jazz, Balkan rhythms, and improvisation, Aneta’s music tells stories of loss, healing, and emotional transformation, and “Rollercoaster” sits at the very heart of that journey.

Eclipses was born during a period of profound grief following the loss of Aneta’s beloved dog. Each composition on the album became an act of sonic therapy, allowing her to process pain and transform it into music. “Rollercoaster” captures this emotional core clearly, moving between moments of control and release, stability and uncertainty. The piece mirrors life’s ups and downs, reflecting how one navigates instability and slowly finds balance again.
What makes Eclipses especially unique is its connection to real celestial events. Inspired by a conversation with renowned musician Steve Coleman, Aneta chose to record the album during two major astronomical moments in 2024: a total solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse. These events shaped the sound, mood, and structure of the music, creating contrasts between shadow and light, intimacy and intensity, structure and freedom.
“Rollercoaster” was recorded during the Lunar Eclipse session, which explored themes of unpredictability, movement, and purpose. With cinematic melodies and open improvisation, the track expresses the feeling of being carried by forces beyond one’s control, while still searching for emotional grounding.
Recorded with her ensemble Melem, Eclipses is an eight-track journey shaped by personal storytelling, cultural roots, and cosmic timing. With “Rollercoaster,” Aneta George invites listeners into a space where grief becomes motion, and music becomes a path toward healing and rediscovery.
“Rollercoaster” and the album Eclipses are available now on all major streaming platforms.
