Lady Gaga Apologizes Over Haus Labs Bronzer Controversy
Lady Gaga has apologized to beauty influencer Golloria following criticism of Haus Labs’ upcoming Sun Dipped Bronzing Veil. The controversy began after Golloria questioned the product’s original shade range and later said the beauty brand asked her to remove her review because the product was under embargo.
Golloria first addressed the bronzer in May after testing three of the darkest shades from the planned six-shade collection. She expressed disappointment with the options and questioned why Haus Labs, a brand she had previously praised for its complexion products, had not developed a wider range for deeper skin tones.

The situation escalated when Golloria said Haus Labs contacted her and asked that her original video be taken down because the product was still under embargo. Gaga later confirmed that the company had made that request and acknowledged that the way the feedback was handled was inappropriate.
In a statement shared through Haus Labs on Oct. 1, Gaga accepted responsibility for both the original shade range and the company’s response to Golloria. She said the decision to launch the bronzer with six shades was the wrong decision and apologized directly to Golloria and the wider community.
Gaga also said Haus Labs paused the product’s launch and returned to the lab to expand the shade selection. The Sun Dipped Bronzing Veil will now launch with 11 shades, adding five shades to the original planned lineup.
The singer said the company also held internal discussions about how the situation was handled and took steps intended to prevent similar issues in the future. Gaga described Golloria’s feedback as important in prompting the brand to reconsider the product before its release.
Golloria has previously spoken positively about Haus Labs’ complexion products, including its foundation range. Her content frequently focuses on how cosmetics perform across different skin tones and has drawn attention to shade inclusivity within the beauty industry.
Haus Labs, which Gaga launched in 2019, currently sells its products through its website and Sephora locations in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and parts of Europe. The revised Sun Dipped Bronzing Veil is now set to arrive with the expanded 11-shade range.
