Ye Claims He’s ‘Done With Antisemitism’: ‘Forgive Me for the Pain I’ve Caused’

Kanye West, now known as Ye, has declared he is “done with antisemitism,” expressing remorse for his past actions and seeking forgiveness from the Jewish community. In a recent post on social media platform X, Ye stated, “I am done with antisemitism,” and added, “I love all people. God forgive me for the pain I’ve caused.” He attributed his previous behavior to personal distress stemming from custody issues with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, and a FaceTime call with his children, which he described as a turning point that inspired him to promote love and peace .
This announcement comes after a series of controversial actions and statements by Ye, including the release of a song titled “Heil Hitler” on May 8, 2025, and the sale of swastika-emblazoned merchandise. These actions have led to widespread condemnation and the severing of business ties with major brands like Adidas, Balenciaga, and Gap .
Despite Ye’s recent statement, reactions from the Jewish community and advocacy organizations have been cautious. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) expressed skepticism, noting that Ye has previously issued apologies only to later repeat harmful behavior. The timing of his statement coincides with public mourning over the fatal shooting of Jewish peace activists Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim in Washington, DC, which has further complicated the perception of his apology .
In December 2023, Ye had issued a public apology in Hebrew for his antisemitic remarks, stating, “I sincerely apologize to the Jewish community for any unintended outburst caused by my words or actions,” and expressing a commitment to learning and promoting unity .
As Ye continues to navigate the fallout from his past actions, the sincerity and effectiveness of his recent apology remain subjects of debate. While some view it as a step toward reconciliation, others remain skeptical, emphasizing the need for consistent and meaningful actions to demonstrate genuine remorse and commitment to change.
