Jack Horton’s ‘Imperfections’ Turns Life’s Rough Edges Into Music
Pianist and songwriter Jack Horton announces the release of his second EP in a year, “Imperfections,” a five-song collection that masterfully blends personal storytelling with polished musicianship. The new project features four original compositions and a fresh interpretation of a beloved Jim Croce classic.
In an innovative release strategy, Horton will unveil one song per month beginning in April, with the complete EP available by August 2025.
“Set Me Free,” the EP’s lead single, emerges from Horton’s journey of transformation. The collection continues with “String Around My Finger,” an upbeat pop-country anthem chronicling a songwriter choosing love over Nashville ambitions. Horton pays homage to his musical influences within the lyrics, referencing Elton John, Johnny Cash, and John Prine.
“Never Know Why” features a passionate duet with Vesper Stockwell, Horton’s musical collaborator and partner. The EP concludes with a reworked version of “Space and Time,” Horton’s 2023 single exploring the nuances of relationship endings.
