Taija New returns with “Never Mrs.,” a cinematic hip-hop single that blends sharp lyricism, suspense, and bold storytelling. Inspired by the tension and strategy of spy thrillers such as Mr. & Mrs. Smith and 007, the track presents Taija as a confident figure who always stays one step ahead.

At the heart of “Never Mrs.” is a high-stakes game of pursuit. Taija takes on the role of a calculated protagonist who knows exactly what she wants. Her delivery carries an unapologetic confidence as she moves through a story filled with tension, control, and determination.

The song’s official music video turns that concept into a strategic chess match. Taija faces her opponent with composure and playful intimidation before ultimately proving her skill. She ends the encounter with a gracious handshake, leaving her opponent to unravel as she walks away.

The visual was filmed at Taija New’s alma mater, the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Members of the UMass Chess Club contributed their expertise and acting talents to help bring the concept to life.

“Never Mrs.” follows Taija’s previous single “Butterflies,” which she debuted at the LAUNCH Lancaster Music Conference. She has also gained attention with tracks including “CLAPPAS” and “My Boo (Remix),” the latter of which caught the attention of SZA.
