Skyy ZNO Turns Betrayal Into Self-Reclamation on “King Turn God (Bonus)”
Skyy ZNO confronts betrayal, opposition, and old wounds on “King Turn God (Bonus),” a forceful new track that extends the story behind his debut album, ExitUs. Where the album traces survival across the African diaspora, this release shifts the focus toward what happens after endurance. Its aggressive energy and cinematic weight frame a turning point, with ZNO taking control of his story rather than allowing past struggles to dictate what comes next.

Released as part of a four-track extension of ExitUs, “King Turn God (Bonus)” sits within a larger movement from survival toward sovereignty. The original seven-act album, released in June 2026, brought together Afrobeats, soul, salsa, dembow, and reggae to explore what ZNO describes as the “physics of survival.” These new tracks expand that vision, asking what becomes possible when surviving hardship is no longer the only goal.
On “King Turn God (Bonus),” confrontation becomes a source of momentum. Betrayal and resistance remain present, but they no longer hold the same authority over the narrative. ZNO channels those experiences into a performance built around defiance and personal power. Rather than presenting hardship as the final word, he turns it into the starting point for reclaiming his direction.
The track’s place in the wider release sequence adds another layer to its meaning. “ARUANDA” opens the new movement with a celebration of freedom and collective strength, while “King Turn God (Bonus)” moves directly into the darkness of conflict. “Beyond the Horizon” then shifts toward healing and possibility, before “SAMADHI” brings the energy inward through reflections on ambition, patience, and stillness. Together, the four tracks create a progression from confrontation toward a more considered sense of self.
That wider vision reflects ZNO’s own background. Born in the United States and raised partly in the Dominican Republic, the Afro-fusion singer, songwriter, and composer grew up moving between cultures. Music was also part of his family inheritance, with a great-grandmother who played piano and relatives working across music and production.
ZNO co-founded ZNOVerse Entertainment and SMN Records with his father in 2024. His debut album, ExitUs, was co-produced with Joe Nicolo, the nine-time Grammy-winning producer whose credits include Lauryn Hill, Nas, and Billy Joel. Across the project, ZNO connects his personal history with the broader legacy of the African diaspora, drawing on music as a way to express resilience and cultural continuity.
