Sean Combs’ Mother Slams Netflix Docuseries for ‘False’ Abuse Claims

Janice Combs, mother of music mogul Sean Combs (also known as “Diddy”), has publicly rejected claims made in the new documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning on Netflix — calling alleged abuse claims “false” and “intentionally misleading.”

In a statement issued December 6, 2025, Janice Combs challenged several of the documentary’s representations of her relationship with her son, insisting she raised him as a single mother working “three and even four jobs” to provide for him. She called the depiction of herself as an “abusive parent” untrue.
One of the most controversial allegations featured in the doc comes from former associate Kirk Burrowes, who claims that Combs once slapped his mother in the aftermath of a tragic 1991 event tied to a celebrity basketball game — a claim Janice Combs said is “patently false,” calling the narrative “wrong, outrageous and past offensive.”
Janice also called out another figure in the doc, childhood friend Tim Patterson, describing his remarks about her parenting as “not truthful and salacious,” and criticized the documentary as “intentionally done to mislead viewers and further harm our reputation.”
Her statement concluded by requesting that the “distortions, falsehoods and misleading statements be publicly retracted.”
