Arnold passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by loved ones including his wife, Jennifer Sanderford, following his courageous fight against kidney cancer that had spread to his lungs.

Arnold rose to fame as a co-founder of 3 Doors Down in Escatawpa, Mississippi in 1996, initially serving as the band’s original drummer before becoming its lead vocalist. He penned the band’s breakout hit “Kryptonite” at age 15, and helped shape the group’s signature blend of post-grunge and mainstream rock that produced enduring hits such as “When I’m Gone” and “Here Without You.”
