Riviir Teams Up with The Game for Nostalgic “Kochi”

Producer and rapper Riviir announces the release of “Kochi (feat. The Game),” a nostalgic return to East Coast 2000s Hip-Hop that showcases both his production prowess and collaborative chemistry with legendary rapper The Game. The track is part of a dual release that includes another Game collaboration, demonstrating Riviir’s ability to create cohesive musical partnerships.

Both singles are entirely produced by Riviir himself, capturing the essence of nostalgic East Coast 2000s Hip-Hop while incorporating modern production techniques. The tracks represent a successful fusion of classic hip-hop sensibilities with contemporary artistry.
The creation of “Kochi” stems from an unexpected creative journey that began in April 2025. Originally conceived as a LoFi Hip-Hop composition called “Rap 4 Me,” the project underwent a dramatic transformation through Riviir’s persistent creative process. After multiple failed attempts at achieving his initial vision, Riviir was on the verge of scrapping the entire session when he discovered something special in the string arrangements he had created.
After saving only the string elements and setting the project aside, Riviir returned weeks later with a bold new vision: transforming the composition into a high-tempo record enhanced with soulful melodic background vocals. Committed to avoiding sampling complications, Riviir took the innovative approach of recording all background vocals himself, then filtering them to achieve a female vocal texture that perfectly complements the track’s nostalgic atmosphere.
The final composition layers Riviir’s rescued string arrangements with self-recorded soulful vocals, bass, drums, snare, and additional instrumentation, creating a rich sonic landscape reminiscent of hip-hop’s golden era. Riviir wrote and recorded the first and third verses before sending the track to The Game, who contributed his signature style to complete the collaboration.
