Red Skies Dawning Releases Debut Track “Shipwrecked”

Modern rock/metal band Red Skies Dawning has released “Shipwrecked,” their debut track showcasing the band’s identity as the heavier evolution of alternative act Red Skies Mourning. The hard-hitting single demonstrates the group’s blend of alternative and hard rock with melodic hooks and emotional depth influenced by Shinedown, Breaking Benjamin, and 90s/2000s rock.
Red Skies Dawning was formed when frontman Chris Aleshire, a singer/songwriter with roots in grunge, pop, and alternative, partnered with producer Chris Dawson to reimagine and reinvent songs with a hard rock foundation. The lineup solidified with Michael Laulis on drums, Michael Trujillo on bass, and Wyatt Carpenter on guitar, creating what the band describes as “a full-band sound that’s both raw and polished.”
Aleshire’s musical journey began in the early 2000s writing and performing with hardcore and grunge bands before evolving into alternative pop with Red Skies Mourning. Red Skies Dawning now delivers what he calls “that same lyrical emotion with explosive hard rock energy,” marking a deliberate sonic shift while maintaining his established songwriting approach.
The band’s influences span Shinedown and Breaking Benjamin’s modern rock approach alongside Dishwalla and broader 90s/2000s rock, creating what they position as “a modern edge” on established alternative rock traditions. This combination of classic and contemporary elements targets audiences familiar with both eras.
“Shipwrecked” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
