Ray’s Music Exchange brings a lively jazz-funk fusion sound to the forefront with “Furley’s Comet,” a vibrant track driven by a punchy bassline, tight drumming and an energetic horn section. The track captures the spontaneous spirit of the group’s live performances and the dynamic interplay that defines their music.

Built around a strong rhythmic foundation, “Furley’s Comet” moves with a groove that keeps the track constantly in motion. The bass provides a driving pulse while the drums add precision and energy. Meanwhile, the lively horns bring another layer of excitement, creating a sound that feels both tight and free flowing.

The track comes from an album recorded live during RayUnion 2025, a showcase of compositions and real time musical experimentation. The project features an impressive lineup of guest musicians, including saxophonist Josh Kline, trombonist Spencer Merk, keyboardist Jackson Steiger, trumpeter Jonathan Wiseman, trombonist Colin Thompson, and saxophonist Wayne Kilgard.

Guitarist and producer Brad Myers reflects on the 2025 RayUnion performance, saying, “Every RayUnion show has its special moments… but the 2025 show was full of energy, an adventurous spirit, and some rare moments featuring some really special younger players.”

That live energy is central to the upcoming limited edition release, A Live Rayunion 2025. The album arrives as a 180 gram black vinyl LP, with approximately 300 hand numbered and hand stamped copies. Each copy also includes a full color insert featuring concert photos and liner notes.
