Hartlepool-based jazz groove quartet NEEB proudly announce the release of their highly anticipated debut full-length album, “Take To The Sky,” an eight-track journey through soul, jazz, and ambient funk. The record showcases the band’s ability to transcend genre boundaries while staying rooted in warm, groove-driven musicianship and emotive storytelling.

Recorded at the group’s own Mobeus Studio, “Take To The Sky” captures the result of two years of experimentation and collaboration, marking a new era for the band with the addition of vocalist Jasmine Weatherill. Her intimate, soulful lyricism pairs beautifully with Mark Hand’s expressive keyboard textures, Tony Waite’s sleek production, and Mark Lloyd’s tight, jazz-informed drumming. The result is a lush, late-night atmosphere that bridges modern soul with classic jazz finesse.

Singles from the album, including “Brighter Day,” “Take To The Sky,” “Cave of Hands,” and “All Caught Up”, have already garnered praise from tastemakers across the UK and Europe, positioning NEEB as one of the most exciting new voices in the UK’s evolving jazz-soul scene.

“Our sound is more electro-acoustic and song-based, with soulful vocals and Rhodes piano,” explains Mark Lloyd. “It’s a fuller, warmer sound featuring plenty of surprises, blending jazz-lounge influences with both vintage and digital electronica.”

The album also features guest appearances from Martin Ditcham (Talk Talk, Sade) on percussion and founding member Andy Wain on synths, further enriching its sonic depth. Each track feels alive, guided by solid, funky basslines, hypnotic grooves, Rhodes keys, synths, drones, and Weatherill’s vocal layers.

For the trio of Mark Hand, Mark Lloyd, and Tony Waite, NEEB represents a full-circle moment. Having spent over two decades exploring sound through projects spanning electronic, dub, drum & bass, breakbeat, house, techno, and jazzy breaks, the band has now found a sound that feels both refined and human.
