Mckey Releases Poignant New Single “Most of the Blame”

Emerging indie artist Mckey returns with a haunting and heartfelt new single, “Most of the Blame,” a genre-blending track steeped in pseudo-Bossa Nova textures, intimate vocals, and the painful clarity of love no longer meant to last.
This track showcases Mckey’s sophisticated approach to genre-blending, drawing from indie pop, pseudo-Bossa Nova, and singer-songwriter traditions. The track will resonate with fans of Clairo, Norah Jones, Sabrina Claudio, and João Gilberto, offering emotional honesty wrapped in lush, contemplative arrangements.
“Most of the Blame” was recorded as part of an audio production class led by Charles Haarhues at Arapahoe Community College. The original composition was created by Mckey and refined through collaboration with Haarhues, resulting in a polished yet intimate sound that perfectly serves the song’s emotional weight.
Mckey recently performed at the prestigious Red Rocks Amphitheater on the United Stage by United Airlines, continuing to build momentum as a rising name in the indie space. Her storytelling weaves together vulnerability, genre fluidity, and a desire to create music that lingers well beyond the final note.
