Mastodon Co-Founder Brent Hinds Leaving the Band After 25 Years

In a surprising turn of events, Brent Hinds, co-founding lead guitarist of the Atlanta metal band Mastodon, has parted ways with the group after 25 years. The band announced the mutual decision on their social media platforms, expressing gratitude for the music and history they’ve shared with Hinds and wishing him success in his future endeavors. A Legacy of Achievement
Hinds co-founded Mastodon in 2000 alongside bassist Troy Sanders, drummer Brann Dailor, and guitarist Bill Kelliher. Their final album with Hinds, Hushed and Grim, was released in 2021.
Brent Hinds’ Other Musical Endeavors
Beyond his work with Mastodon, Hinds leads the surfabilly band Fiend Without a Face and has participated in various other projects, including Giraffe Tongue Orchestra and Legend of the Seagullmen.
