Sunset Sermon (Deluxe) sees Kings X Priests fully realize their mission of merging deep, soulful house music with themes of faith, spirituality, and praise. Expanding on the original project, the deluxe edition presents 20 tracks that transform the dancefloor into a space for reflection, devotion, and communal worship.

At its core, Sunset Sermon (Deluxe) is designed as a complete house music experience. Rhythm and belief move together throughout the project, creating a sound that works equally well in moments of personal introspection and shared celebration. The album features standout tracks including “Pull Me Near,” “Fade Away,” “Come With Us,” “Nkosi,” “Church,” and “Holy, Holy,” alongside deeper cuts and a carefully placed interlude that elevate the project into a cohesive spiritual narrative.

The project’s impact is already extending well beyond music audiences. South African rugby icons Siya Kolisi and Vincent Tshituka drew widespread attention after Kolisi shared the Kings X Priests track “Come Again” on Instagram, pairing the song with a powerful image of the two athletes kneeling in prayer, accompanied by praying hands emojis, a love emoji, and the word “Amen.” Olympic champion Wayde van Niekerk has also publicly shown support for the album, further amplifying its reach across cultural and sporting communities.

Beyond the recorded music, Kings X Priests are preparing to bring Sunset Sermon to festival stages across the country. Dr Mathinussen will personally curate and oversee the DJ sets, while live performance duties will be handled by a masked DJ persona—a respected and prominent South African DJ entrusted to represent the Kings X Priests sound. This creative choice reflects a commitment to excellence and intention, ensuring that the focus remains on the message, the music, and the shared experience, rather than individual celebrity.
