Kid Cudi Didn’t Want to Testify in Diddy Trial, But ‘I Knew I Was Helping Cassie’

Kid Cudi testified in May 2025 during the federal trial involving Sean “Diddy” Combs. His appearance came after he received a subpoena. In an August 13 interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, he said he initially declined to participate but ultimately complied due to legal obligation. He stated that his motivation was rooted in helping Cassie Ventura, who had filed a civil lawsuit in 2023 against Combs, which was later settled.
During his testimony, Cudi recounted a brief relationship with Cassie in 2011. He told the court that Diddy allegedly broke into his home, locked his dog in a bathroom, and that his Porsche was destroyed by a Molotov cocktail. He did not directly accuse Combs but told the jury he believed Combs was involved based on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In the podcast, Cudi said he did not enjoy testifying but found a sense of peace in supporting Cassie. He described her current life with her husband Alex Fine and their children as “awesome.” These remarks align with the content in his memoir, Cudi: The Memoir, released in August 2025, where he also discussed the incident and said Diddy did not deny the accusations during a later in-person interaction.
Cassie Ventura returned to social media in early August 2025 following her court appearance and the birth of her third child. She posted an Instagram Story captioned “Little by little. lol” accompanied by a selfie. This was her first public comment since the trial resumed and marked her re-entry into public life.
This update follows continued media coverage of the trial, which includes testimonies from multiple witnesses as part of the federal investigation into allegations of sexual assault, coercion, and physical abuse involving Combs.
