Bronx rapper Kay Flock, born Kevin Perez, has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison following his conviction on racketeering and violent crime charges. The sentence was imposed on December 16, 2025, by U.S. District Judge Lewis J. Liman in Manhattan after a federal jury found Perez guilty in March of racketeering conspiracy, attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon in aid of racketeering, and a firearm offense tied to those crimes. Perez, 22, was acquitted of a murder charge earlier in the case but was held responsible for orchestrating and participating in a series of shootings in the Bronx between 2020 and 2021 that prosecutors said fueled retaliatory violence in the community.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York stated that Perez used his status as a recognized drill rapper and leader of a Bronx gang known as “Sev Side/DOA” to celebrate and promote violence, including through music and social media posts. Judge Liman, in announcing the sentence, criticized Perez for glorifying violence and noted the extensive harm caused by the shootings. The sentence also includes five years of supervised release following incarceration. Federal prosecutors had sought a 50-year sentence, while the defense had urged the minimum, citing Perez’s upbringing; the judge’s final decision reflected the severity of the crimes and the impact on public safety.
