Empire of the Sun are set to return to Australia and New Zealand in early 2027 with their biggest tour of the region to date. The duo of Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore will bring their Ask That God: Afterlife Tour to six cities across February and March.

The tour will begin at Spark Arena in Auckland on Feb. 19, followed by performances at Riverstage in Brisbane on Feb. 21, Afterpay Arena in Sydney on Feb. 25, and Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne on Feb. 27. The run will continue at Adelaide Entertainment Centre on March 2 before concluding at RAC Arena in Perth on March 6.

The upcoming shows follow Empire of the Sun’s 2024 Ask That God tour, which marked the band’s return to Australian stages following the release of their album of the same name. According to promoter Frontier Touring, the current touring cycle has sold more than 400,000 tickets worldwide since beginning in 2024.

The Ask That God: Afterlife production is being presented as a reimagined continuation of the world created around the 2024 album. The new live show is expected to expand the group’s established use of costumes, theatrical staging, visual effects and electronic-pop performances. The tour is also described as the final live installment of the Ask That God journey.

Steele has described the upcoming production as a new chapter filled with new visions and possibilities, while the band prepares to take the show into larger venues across the region. The six-date schedule includes arena performances as well as outdoor concerts, giving the group its largest Australasian touring footprint so far.

The tour announcement also comes as Empire of the Sun continues its international touring cycle. The duo has been performing across Europe, the United Kingdom and North America following the release of Ask That God, which arrived in 2024 as the group’s first album in eight years.

Presales for the 2027 Australasian dates began Sept. 16, while general public tickets are scheduled to go on sale Friday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. local time.
