How Much Did Turnstile & Rosalía’s ‘SNL’ Appearances Help Their Streaming Numbers?
Turnstile and Rosalía have recorded significant increases in U.S. music streams following their recent appearances on Saturday Night Live, according to figures reported by Billboard on October 14, 2026. The Baltimore hardcore band performed on the October 3 episode, while Rosalía appeared as the musical guest on October 10, with both acts experiencing increased listening activity in the days after their performances.
Turnstile’s October 3 appearance marked the band’s debut on SNL and made them the first hardcore band to perform on the program since Fear appeared in 1981. The group performed “BIRDS” and a medley of “I CARE” and “DULL,” bringing music from its 2025 album Never Enough to the late-night television audience.

According to Luminate data cited by Billboard, “BIRDS” generated 327,000 official on-demand streams in the United States between October 5 and October 9. That represented a 74% increase compared with the same Monday-to-Friday period a week earlier. “I CARE” also experienced a substantial rise, collecting 239,000 streams over the five-day period, an 80% increase from the previous week.
The streaming growth extended beyond the two songs featured on television. Turnstile’s entire catalogue generated more than 3.9 million U.S. on-demand streams during the October 5–9 period, up 44% from approximately 2.7 million streams the week before. The figures indicate that the performance brought additional listening activity to the band’s wider collection of releases, rather than only the tracks performed on the show.
Rosalía experienced a similar response following her October 10 appearance, during which she performed “Reliquia” and “Magnolias,” two songs from her 2025 album Lux. Her performance of “Reliquia” featured her dancing en pointe throughout the song, while “Magnolias” was staged beneath artificial rain. The appearance marked another high-profile television moment for the Spanish singer-songwriter.
Early streaming data showed that “Reliquia” generated 51,000 U.S. on-demand streams on Monday, October 12, a 175% increase from the previous Monday. “Magnolias” recorded 53,000 streams on October 12, compared with just under 12,000 on October 5. That represented an increase of approximately 356%, making “Magnolias” the bigger percentage gainer of the two songs in the initial post-performance figures.
Rosalía’s catalogue also saw an overall increase. Her music generated slightly more than one million U.S. on-demand streams on October 12, up 37% from approximately 762,000 streams on the previous Monday. The numbers were early indicators of the impact of her SNL appearance, with a longer tracking period needed to establish how sustained the gains would be.
The streaming increases come as SNL continues its 52nd season, which began in September 2026. Turnstile and Rosalía were among the season’s early musical guests, following KATSEYE’s premiere appearance. Gracie Abrams was announced as the musical guest for the October 31 episode, hosted by Inde Navarrette.
The latest figures demonstrate how a prominent television performance can bring renewed attention to a musician’s catalogue, particularly when viewers seek out songs after seeing them performed live. For Turnstile, the increase followed a landmark appearance for a hardcore band on the long-running program. For Rosalía, the gains followed a visually distinctive performance featuring songs from Lux.
Billboard’s report also tracked other streaming trends, including Marvin Sapp’s “Listen,” which gained traction through a viral dance trend, and Kings of Leon’s 2013 single “Wait for Me,” which experienced renewed interest online. The Turnstile and Rosalía figures, however, were directly tied to the timing of their respective Saturday Night Live appearances, with both artists recording increases in the days immediately following their performances.
