Fijian vocalist BigWilz and Australian producer Watermelon Boy announce the release of their latest cross-cultural collaboration, “Kida Vou,” furthering their innovative fusion of Fijian vocal traditions with contemporary Australian electronic production.

Following the success of their first collaborative effort, “Cagi Mudre Vou” with Fijian dance music producer Christonite Boginikua earlier in 2024, “Kida Vou” elevates their distinctive sound to new heights. The track showcases massive, fuzzy synthesiser chords layered over powerful drums, creating an expansive sonic landscape that serves as the perfect foundation for BigWilz’s commanding vocal performance.

The production features a distinctive island-influenced backbeat that pays homage to BigWilz’s Fijian heritage, supported by substantial sub-bass frequencies that give the track its modern electronic edge. However, the heart of “Kida Vou” lies in its emotional, heart-wrenching melody that resonates deeply with listeners regardless of cultural background.
