Extra Time Unveils Provocative New Single “It’s Time”

Australian jazz pop collective Extra Time continues to push musical and political boundaries with their latest single “It’s Time,” the fourth video from their critically acclaimed album “Songs With Long Titles“. Featuring mesmerizing animation by Brazilian videographer Gabriel Gareso, the track offers a razor-sharp critique of contemporary democratic processes.

“It’s Time” emerges as a powerful musical commentary on the limitations of Western democratic systems. With lyrics that challenge the status quo, the song exposes the fundamental restrictions within political structures, questioning why electoral systems remain largely unchanged in the digital age. Drawing inspiration from historical political figures like Boss Tweed, the track provocatively asks why democratic institutions haven’t evolved alongside technological advancements.

The single is part of Extra Time’s second studio album, “Songs With Long Titles,” which has been receiving international acclaim for its innovative blend of classic rock, jazz, and blues influences. Recorded live to 2″ tape at Damien Gerard studios in West Gosford, the album represents a purist approach to music-making—eschewing modern digital production techniques in favor of raw, authentic performances.
