Everything We Know About J. Cole’s ‘The Fall-Off’ Album

J. Cole’s long-awaited album The Fall-Off has finally been given an official release date, with the Dreamville Records and Interscope Records project scheduled to arrive on February 6, 2026. The announcement ended years of speculation and teasing from the North Carolina rapper, who has referenced the project in various ways since the late 2010s. The Fall-Off is set to be his seventh studio album and his first full-length release since 2021’s The Off-Season.

In the lead-up to the release, J. Cole shared a cinematic teaser trailer that sets the tone for the album’s themes, featuring mundane visuals of the artist going about daily life while a narrator reflects on fame’s impermanence and the cultural narrative around “falling off.” The clip transitions into a brief snippet of new music, building anticipation for the full project. Alongside the trailer, J. Cole released the first song associated with the album, titled “Disc 2, Track 2,” accompanied by a music video and hinting that the album may take the form of a double album—a structure Cole has reportedly confirmed.

Cole has openly described The Fall-Off as a deeply personal and long-crafted work, saying it has been over a decade in the making and was built with the intention of creating his best work yet. He has suggested that completing this project was a personal challenge and an artistic imperative, one he felt he owed both to himself and to the culture of hip-hop. There are also strong indications from recent comments that this album could be his final release, marking the culmination of a body of work teased for years.

The rollout reflects a period of transition in Cole’s career. After the release of Might Delete Later in 2024—which included a controversial diss track that he later removed—and the conclusion of the Dreamville Festival in 2025, The Fall-Off represents both a return to form and a potential close to his studio album output. The Fall-Off arrives with official artwork revealed by Cole and ongoing pre-orders for various formats, signaling a full promotional push as the February release approaches.
