Dr. Uzoma Alaneme Releases Drill Single “Dior”

Dr. Uzoma Alaneme has released “Dior,” a drill track that contrasts expensive lifestyles with the message that “the best things in life are free: joy, happiness and trust.” The single serves as the lead track from his forthcoming album ‘Afromusic Therapy, Rap.’

“Dior” deliberately subverts drill music conventions by using the genre’s characteristic fast-paced production to deliver what Alaneme describes as “a poignant message very much needed in today’s world.” The track calls listeners to reject using material things to mask insecurities and instead “go and enjoy life and nature as it is.”
The single represents Alaneme’s mission to curate music that uplifts mental health and wellbeing through his unique position as both practising psychiatrist and music industry veteran. With over a decade of experience in the music industry specialising in Afrobeats, he is now exploring how specific genres can improve mental health and emotional wellbeing through his medical work.
As a label executive in addition to his medical practice, Alaneme brings business infrastructure to his mental health music initiative. This combination of medical credentials, music industry experience, and executive capabilities positions him uniquely to develop music as a legitimate mental wellness tool.
“Dior” specifically targets drill music’s audience, often young people navigating materialism and social pressures, with counter-messaging about authentic happiness sources. By working within the genre rather than against it, Alaneme maintains credibility with listeners while introducing mental health concepts.
“Dior” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
