Charli XCX’s Big Moment Songwriter of the Year at the 2025 BRIT Awards

Charli XCX is set to receive the prestigious Songwriter of the Year award at the 2025 BRIT Awards, marking her first win at the ceremony. The honorary prize was previously awarded to British talents such as Ed Sheeran, Kid Harpoon, and Raye. In addition to this recognition, Charli is also nominated in five other categories, including Album of the Year and British Artist of the Year.
The BRIT Awards will take place on March 1 at London’s O2 Arena, hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall. The event will feature performances from notable artists such as Sabrina Carpenter, Sam Fender, Teddy Swims, and Shaboozey. Charli’s latest album, Brat, has received widespread acclaim, being named Billboard’s Album of the Year and achieving notable chart success, peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and topping the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart.
Adding to the accolades, Charli’s longtime collaborator A.G. Cook has been honored as Producer of the Year. Cook, who served as an executive producer on Brat, joins an esteemed list of past winners, including George Martin, Fred again.., Inflo, David Guetta, and Chase & Status. In a past interview, Charli spoke about her creative synergy with Cook, emphasizing their shared passion for pushing musical boundaries while respecting certain pop music conventions.
