Rapper Cam’ron recently addressed his decision to take part in the 2021 Verzuz battle between his group The Diplomats (Dipset) and The LOX, calling it a “wrong decision.”

On an episode of his podcast It Is What It Is, Cam’ron explained that he agreed to the showdown partly out of loyalty — wanting to be a “team player.” He admitted that despite his initial reservations, he went along with the plan, though looking back, he regrets doing so.

He reaffirmed that he had cautioned his peers against doing the battle. According to him, the decision to participate was driven by solidarity — not conviction — which, in hindsight, he considers a misstep.

Cam’ron’s statements add a new layer of reflection to a Verzuz event long remembered for its intense competition.
