William Pascal Returns to French Rap with “Madame Tussauds”
William Pascal has released “Madame Tussauds,” his first French-language rap track in five years, marking a return to French hip-hop after 2019’s “Ma chose” video. The single connects Italy and France through what Pascal calls “timeless hardcore rap” produced by DJ Adone, a Nancy-born beatmaker specialising in French boombap.
“Madame Tussauds” deliberately evokes French rap’s golden age through production choices that reference historic group Supreme NTM, specifically using the same sample and final scratch as Clas K from 1998. This sonic connection reinforces Pascal’s conscious rap approach, which alternates personal reflections with social critique.
The track’s lyrics address modern society’s contradictions, where Pascal observes that “war is waged in the streets and love is made over the phone,” positioning individuals as “alone against the world” , a reference to Tupac’s 1995 anthem. These observations demonstrate Pascal’s conscious influence spanning both French and American hip-hop traditions.
“Madame Tussauds” serves as the only previously unreleased track from “Timeless Reforged,” the official reissue of Pascal’s 2014 “Timeless” EP. The reissue includes bonus tracks and additional surprises beyond the original EP content.
The single represents Pascal’s conscious decision to return to French rap after focusing on Italian and international projects, demonstrating his multilingual capabilities and cross-cultural hip-hop perspective.
“Madame Tussauds” is available now on all major streaming platforms as part of “Timeless Reforged.”
