Olivia Rodrigo Says This Song Will Be on the Setlist for ‘Every Concert I Play for the Rest of My Life’

Olivia Rodrigo has confirmed that her breakout hit “Drivers License” will remain a permanent part of her concert setlist for the rest of her career as she marked the five-year anniversary of the song’s release. In an Instagram message shared on Jan. 8, Rodrigo reflected on how the track “totally changed my life in ways I still can’t totally wrap my head around,” and wrote that she can’t wait “to scream red lights stop signs with u guys at every concert I play for the rest of my life,” quoting lyrics from the song’s iconic bridge.

Rodrigo, who was just 17 when “Drivers License” debuted and became a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, shared photos looking back at that early chapter of her career alongside her message about the song’s enduring place in her live shows.
In conjunction with the anniversary, Rodrigo released a specially recorded cover of “Drivers License” by Talking Heads co-founder David Byrne, calling him one of her “all-time heroes” and revealing she was moved to tears upon hearing his version. The cover is part of a series of reimagined recordings from her debut album Sour, which turns five this year.
The announcement reinforces how central “Drivers License” remains to Rodrigo’s performances, even as her catalog has grown with subsequent releases and tours.
