6ix9ine Could Face Jail After Performing in Vegas Without Permission
Tekashi 6ix9ine may be heading back to jail after violating the terms of his supervised release. According to a report from TMZ, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York is recommending a 30-day jail sentence for the rapper, following his unauthorized performance in Las Vegas in late October.
After serving the proposed jail time, the government plans for 6ix9ine to undergo another year of supervised release, with an intensive 90-day period immediately following his release. This period would involve:
- First 30 days: Home incarceration
- Second 30 days: Home detention
- Final 30 days: A curfew
Following the 90 days, 6ix9ine, born Daniel Hernandez, will be allowed to travel domestically for work but must get prior approval from his probation officer. Additionally, he may face random drug testing as part of the conditions.
The “Fefe” rapper, who was arrested in late October, is expected to appear in court next week and reportedly plans to admit to the violations. The final decision rests with the judge, who must approve the government’s proposed sentencing.
6ix9ine’s lawyer, Lance Lazzaro, explained that his client didn’t seek the necessary approval from his probation officer before performing in Las Vegas. Additionally, the rapper tested positive for methamphetamine after his arrest. However, his attorney claims this could be a false positive due to 6ix9ine’s prescribed use of Adderall.
For now, 6ix9ine remains in custody, awaiting the judge’s ruling.
