50 Cent to Produce Podcast Hosted by Jadakiss Exploring DMX’s Life Story

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has announced a new narrative podcast project that will explore the life, early years, and legacy of the late hip-hop icon DMX. Titled Look Thru My Eyes: Becoming DMX, the series is set to be produced by 50 Cent’s G-Unit Audio in collaboration with storytelling studio Narratively and iHeartPodcasts, and it will be released later this year across major podcast platforms.

The podcast will be hosted by longtime collaborator and fellow New York rapper Jadakiss, who will guide listeners through the formative period of DMX’s life before he rose to prominence as one of rap’s most influential artists. The first season will focus on his upbringing in Yonkers, New York, highlighting the struggles, relationships, battles, and personal experiences that shaped Earl Simmons into the artist known as DMX.

The production team behind the series includes executive producers Bruce Miller, Justin Baez, Noah Rosenberg, and Paul Anderson, with Drew Nelles serving as showrunner. The project emphasizes firsthand insights, drawing on interviews with family members, childhood friends, collaborators, rivals, and cultural figures who witnessed DMX’s journey firsthand. Themes such as survival, faith, pain, and purpose are central to the storytelling approach.

50 Cent issued a statement noting that the podcast aims to give listeners a deeper understanding of where DMX came from before fame, told through the voices of those who were there during his rise. The project also sets the stage for potential future seasons exploring the origin stories of other iconic artists.
